ABOUT

About
We are an interior design company based in New Westminster, BC, Canada, dedicated to creating warm, inviting spaces that feel like home. Our work goes beyond aesthetics — we focus on thoughtful, functional design that supports how people live now and into the future.
With experience in interior design and aging-in-place design, we create homes that are both practical and considered. We work with homeowners who value comfort, character, and a sense of ease — and who want a home that reflects their lifestyle with intention and care.
Meet The Team

Hannah Cheng

Principal Interior Designer
Hannah Cheng is the founder and principal interior designer of CHY Design, a Vancouver-based studio known for creating timeless, elegant interiors defined by thoughtful detail and purpose.
With years of experience in both residential and commercial design, her work spans home and condo renovations, multi-family development design, as well as restaurants, offices, retail stores, kitchens, and hotel interiors. Every project balances aesthetics with real-life needs, focusing on how people live and move through their space.
She completed the Interior Design program at BCIT and is certified in Adaptive Home Renovation through the Canadian Home Builders' Association, with an emphasis on aging-in-place design. Hannah also serves on the board of the vancouver chapter of an organization that advocates for the rights, wellness, and quality of life of older adults in the community.
Her approach is shaped by both professional insight and personal experience. She believes a home should reflect the people who live in it-supporting their lifestyle, creating spaces where they feel truly at ease and inspired every day.
Outside of work, Hannah enjoys trying new recipes and experimenting with flavors, often putting her own spin on meals. She loves sunny days, visiting local farmers markets, and spending time in nature to recharge. In her downtime, she enjoys listening to podcasts or watching a good movie. These simple joys keep her inspired and help bring a sense of creativity and warmth to her design work, making each project thoughtfully tailored to her clients.
